“Finally listening to what the voice was saying, not with her words, but with the spaces in between them, where a different meaning was revealed.” – Lee Battersby Magrit
I read YA and anything illustrated
I’m passionate about beautifully designed books and the space between word and image.
This blog started as a record of my PhD research on teenagers’ reading and graphic novels. Since I finished my thesis I blog about the books I read, although there has been a long hiatus. Hopefully I will continue to remember reading is breathing. The dog likes to help when he can.
“Words mean nothing, it’s the spaces that invoke the intrigue. The words merely aim to continue it.”
– Sam Cropley (1981-2010)
